National Minimum Wage (Κατώτατος Μισθός)
The Greek national minimum wage is set by government decree following consultation with social partners. It applies to all private-sector employees and is reviewed annually.
14 Payments System
In Greece, salaries are paid in 14 installments per year. The monthly minimum of €880 is paid 14 times, giving an annual total of €12,320. The extra payments are a Christmas bonus (1 month), an Easter bonus (half month), and a vacation bonus (half month).
Daily Wage Workers
Workers paid on a daily basis have a separate minimum daily wage of €47.38. This applies primarily to manual workers and certain sectors that use daily wage contracts.
Coverage
The minimum wage applies to all full-time private-sector employees aged 18 and over. Collective agreements in many sectors set higher minimum wages. Public-sector salaries follow a separate pay scale.
